It’s no secret that pregnancy loss can be devastating.  What most people don’t realize though is that the healing journey is different for everyone.  The time it takes to heal from such a loss is immeasurable.  I have my days where I am full of hope, then I have other days where I long to hold my son and feel defeated and devastated all over again.

I recently met a new friend online, who also happened to be a military spouse, and we quickly formed a bond. During one of my low days, she reached out to inform me that she wanted to send something to cheer me up.  To my surprise, I received this beautiful box in the mail with cute little treasures inside. As I began to read more about the gifts inside, the sentiment behind each of them was truly special.  Each item was made and contributed by another woman who had experienced child or pregnancy loss too.  It was truly special and touched my heart.  This sweet new friend of mine sent this beautiful box my way to bring cheer and it did so much more than that.

Background of The Stay Strong Mom Box

“The Stay Strong Mom project was started by Chaunie Bruise, freelance writer and mom of 4. While enduring her second miscarriage, curled up on the couch, Chaunie’s daughter brought her a drawing of a coffee mug with the words “Stay Strong Mom.” From there, a movement was born. Chaunie decided to create a box for moms who have experienced loss, moms who are heartbroken, and those that need to be uplifted. Friends and family can send the box to those they love and care about to let them know that they are there for them even if they can’t be physically present.”

Who is it for?

“While The Stay Strong Mom box was first focused on mom’s who have experienced  pregnancy or child loss, it has grown into so much more than that. Chaunie began to realize that The Stay Strong Mom box could be for anyone- moms or not, loss or not- to say, “Hey, I’m thinking about you. I love you. I’m here for you.”

Military spouses tend to feel isolated and alone in military life. The long separations due to deployments and moving far away from family and friends can take a major toll on their happiness. The Stay Strong Moms Box can bring joy, healing, and comfort to military spouse moms of all types; whether you are a loss mom like me, mom of four, a new mom, mom to be, or a dog mom, this box will surely lift your spirits.
